For my run on Monday night I thought that I would mix it up. My plan was to run from work to the Lincoln Park area and have my son pick me up from a designated spot. As I left work, I only took the essential things that I needed in my belt and kept the rest of the stuff in my office. The weather was cooler than it has been in the past weeks. It actually felt comfortable running in the shaded areas. I guess that was why I had a really good run. Running by the lake, I realized that I don’t enjoy the path between Oak Street Beach and North Avenue Beach because of all the people I need to maneuver around.
For some reason, I also tend to run faster when I run on the sidewalks in the residential areas. Hopefully, that trait will carryover on race day. For the past two runs, it seems that when I hit 4 miles, I really get into my rhythm.
I arrived at our meeting spot before my son did because he was stuck in traffic. As only a good son would do, he had some water and a towel for me in the car. I don’t know why but I had such a craving for pizza after my run. As we were driving home, I saw a sign at a pizza place that sold pizza by the slice. I made my son stop the car so I could get my slice – stuffed vegetarian. When I started to eat my pizza in the car, I realized that I didn’t have anything to cut the pizza into bites. It was not a pretty sight as I was chomping on the pizza.
The next scheduled run in Thursday night. I will be running the Terrapin 5K after work as my run. And once again, there will be pizza and beer at the after party. It should be a good time.
We found that query search time increased along with segment count while query-less filter search time decreased along with segment size. An increase in query search time of almost a full second is not an acceptable hit to performance so we are sticking with the 8 segment arrangement.
