Yesterday evening I had to leave the office in the downpour to see a play. Thankfully, I took a raincoat with when I left the house in the morning since they had predicted rain. Walking in the rain was a nightmare. The rain was coming down really hard. It was the type of rain where when it hits the ground it bounces up about a foot. By the time I arrived at the restaurant to meet fellow theater goers, I was a mess even though I had on a raincoat and had an umbrella. My hair was wet, my coat was soaked, my walking shoes where soaked along with my socks and my backpack was wet. At least it wasn’t cold outside. When I got to the theater, I had to put on my work shoes because I could not sit through a play wearing wet shoes and socks. Yuck! The scariest part of the evening was when I went to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. I knew my hair was wet but had no idea how bad it looked. I looked like a witch. I even scared myself for a moment. Where it my hat or the paper bag to put over my head?
With the bad weather, I sure the mid-week runs were cancelled. On the running front, I haven’t done much running this week. On Monday, it was so hot that I didn’t run much. On Tuesday, I had one of those days where I just didn’t feel like doing anything when I got home. I did show up for the group run at RAM this evening. With the run/walk group, I only ran about 1 mile. Luckily the Saturday run is only 5 miles this week. I need to step up my running. I just couldn’t get myself together this week. This weekend, I hope to catch up on my sleep and hopefully have more energy in the coming week.
