A couple of weeks ago on a Sunday, I noticed these bumps on my inner thighs. After taking a closer look, I realized that they were mosquito bites because they also started to itch. The only time that I could have been bitten would have been during the Saturday morning run. This seemed odd to me since I didn’t see any bugs around me at the lake and most of the time I was moving. Yesterday I noticed bug bites on my thighs again. These bugs must know that I am at the lake on Saturday and make plans to feast on my thighs.
Today I basically left work on time to go home. I get to the train station and no train is coming. This is not good. Finally a train comes but it goes right past our stop. Trains might go past a stop if they are packed with passengers or there is another train right behind it. In this case, the train was almost empty and another train wasn’t behind it. What is up with that? Another train finally came but it was packed so I waited for the next train. So much for leaving work at a normal time; I didn’t get home any earlier. I am going to have to write a book about my adventures on the CTA. No commute is ever the same. When I took the METRA, the commute was uneventful for about 99% of the time and always the same.
By the time I got home, I was tired but I need to do some running. The threat of thunderstorms was in the forecast so I decided to run on my treadmill. Since we have cleared out the house to be sold, the treadmill is in the garage. It was so hot running in the garage. There was no air at all. I didn’t feel like running the whole time so I did this programmed workout on the treadmill that combines running and walking but most all of it is done on an incline. It wasn’t my planned workout but at least I did something.
I really don’t enjoy it when the weather is this hot. It feels even hotter when you run. The forecast seems to be predicting rain and hot weather for about the next week. Welcome to summer which officially began to day.
